Justin LaiLet’s talk

Full-stack developer · Contractor · Crawley, UK

I’m Justin Lai. I build business software that makes work easier.

I’m a full-stack contractor based in Crawley, working with React, .NET and SQL Server. I help teams modernise the systems their business runs on, from the database to the details people use every day, and I explore independent products on the side.

What I do

Where I’m most useful.

Three kinds of work I bring to a team: shaping applications around real processes, building on solid data foundations, and keeping delivery part of the engineering.

01

Applications that fit

Forms, data tables, APIs and reporting shaped around the people and processes that use them.

02

Depth in the data

A strong SQL Server foundation, from modelling business rules to understanding difficult queries.

03

Beyond the build

Docker, Jenkins and blue/green deployment, so the path from development to release stays part of the work.

Selected work

Built for the way people work.

Real business processes. Long-lived systems. Thoughtful engineering across the full stack.

About

A developer, an independent builder, always curious.

I like understanding how things work, finding the awkward parts, and building something that makes them easier. My background brings together business software, data and the web.

  • Start with the data and the rules behind it, then build the interface people need.
  • Work closely with the people using the system, not just the specification.
  • Keep delivery practical: clear scope, maintainable code, a dependable release path.
